"When alcohol is introduced into rural areas where it has been previously restricted, expect social costs and harm to follow.”

I do not think this town can support the laws that would be broken, or support the police with what little tax revenue it will get.  Any revenue produced will have to go into more law enforcement personnel and facilities.  One could say that is good because it will cause more jobs for the people of the town, but let’s bring other businesses in, that won’t cost the town money and bring crime to the area.

Who is going to be helped by the sale of alcohol?  Not the local citizen, but only the people who have the money to invest in an establishment to sell the alcohol.  They will get a big tax break as businesses do.  And, who are those people?  The people who already own businesses in this town probably.  Sure, their businesses bring sales tax revenue to the town but shouldn’t they be taxed more than one dollar for their property?  Is the sales tax so much greater than the taxes that could be brought to the town if they were paying more property taxes like everyone else?

I got to tell ya, every time I drive through Tawakoni, I marvel at the improvements I'm sure the sale of alcohol generates. Plus, you can get used to lot's of noise and traffic.

After the townspeople get tired of the crime, noise, and debris caused by the alcohol sales and start complaining, then you will have other actions tovote on take care of this one.
I vote NO!
